H.H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum: Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) reaps three ISO certifications in quality management system, operational training & information security

In a move that showcases compliance with international quality standards, Dubai Air Navigation Services’ team received three ISO certifications in quality management systems, quality management for training and Information security.

Dubai Air Navigation Services is well known for being a leading air navigation services provider on a regional and international scope within the Aviation sector for delivering safe, efficient and expeditious air traffic management services that gears Dubai’s airspace to transcend expansion plans and the continuous increase in air traffic movement’s capacity. Becoming an ISO certified Organisation enables dans to be internationally recognized in new fronts, due to its demonstrated capabilities of complying with global standards. The Organisation has been granted the ISO 9001:2015 certificate in quality management System, ISO 27001: 2013 in Information security management system and a letter of compliance for complying with guidelines provided in the ISO 10015: 1999 for quality management in operational training.

In light of the honorary ISO certificates handover ceremony that was attended by HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, dans Chairman, H.E. Mohammed A. Ahli, Director General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) stated: “Our Leader HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime minister and Ruler of Dubai, has established the UAE Vision for 2021 which aims to make the UAE one of the best countries globally by 2021. This empowering vision instilled with the support and guidance of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, dans Chairman, extended to Dubai Air Navigation Services are considered as our guiding roadmap that shapes our vision and goals to transform the sky. Demonstrating robust quality processes and management systems implemented across each and every department across the Organisation, has enabled dans to become an internationally recognized ISO certified entity. This is considered as a milestone in the history of the Organisation, as air navigation service provider work environment has intricate and complex processes that must be aligned with ICAO regulations as well as air traffic management best practices. Being recognized for complying with quality management standards in operational training is a profound testament to the unique training capabilities dans possesses in equipping air traffic management professionals with the skills they require to excel in their roles. Additionally, being compliant with 113 security controls in international information security standards is a tangible proof that dans is home to good information security practices in an environment where cyber security threats are on the rise”.

Enabling the achievement of this milestone for Dubai Air Navigation Services, a dedicated team of employees from the Safety & Security, Operational Training & Standards, and Quality Assurance departments collaborated to drive this project forward. They strived to ensure that the Organisation’s processes are aligned with the highest international ISO standards.
